5 years ago on July 28, 2018, was what I considered the worst day of my life I had a huge altercation with my then-husband. It was the worst experience I had ever gone through, but what I did not know then was that this would be the turning point in my life. I will be going into more detail right here by sharing my story of how I chose to save myself and began rebuilding my life at age 51.
Allow me to reintroduce myself to you. I am Sonya C Williams, I am an entrepreneur and an author. I am the Creative Director and Owner of Moments That Matter Event Planning. I am also the Founder and Accountability Coach of Inspire Uplift Ignite, an online community that can be found on Facebook. The IUI community supports women who have or are going through a transitional period in their life. That transition could have been a traumatic experience such as mine, being married to a narcissistic, emotional, mental, and verbal abuser or it could be something like a divorce or a downsizing.
In our group, you’ll find encouragement, support, and inspiration. I have an accountability program, the Call to Thrive, we meet on the first and third Sundays of the month at 7:00 p.m. via a Zoom call. During this time, we discuss goals and define the necessary action steps to be taken. We put some realistic timelines and measures around those goals. Some women want to start a business, some want to write a book, and some women want to start a podcast there is a variety of women in this group. Each one is strong, powerful, and talented in her own right, the only drawback is that most of the time we just don’t know it and that’s why this group was formed to help women rewrite their trauma story and become who they were created to be. You see the best way to remain committed is through accountability, and then and only then can the transformation begin.
